Getting Started August 31, 2010

Hey!

Well, this blogging thing is a little more difficult than I thought.  I thought, “Sure!  I can do this.  I have a ton of things to talk about, and I’m really good at the internet, so set up will be no problem!”

I was wrong.  All of a sudden I can’t think of a single thing to say, and I can’t work the program to save my life.  Bear with me, and I’ll figure out how to add pictures and make this thing look the way I want it to look.

You may or may not know that right now I’m recovering from ankle surgery.  I’ve spent the past week and a half laying down.  This is next to impossible for me – primarily because you can’t cook lying down!  I am getting lots of time to watch Food Network and read Ruth Reichl, so once I’m standing, I’ve got a TON of new recipes to try!

I’m really excited about Pea Ravioli. I’m equally as excited for fall and this incredible looking pumpkin recipe.

In addition to catching up on watching and reading about cooking, I took a trip to the grocery store this weekend!  I’m used to going several times a week, so going to Publix was like visiting an old friend.  Of course, not having use of an ankle meant that I had to ride the cart around the store.  If you’ve never tried to pilot one of those things, I highly recommend giving it a shot next time you’re at the store!  Just be sure you aren’t near any displays, because they are IMPOSSIBLE!

Shopping Cart

That's right. I drove this.

Aside from just driving around some food, last night I got to chop some food!  My sister was cooking dinner, and I helped chop the vegetables.  I never thought that I’d be so excited about chopping an onion.  🙂  It is just further proof that vegetables are good for the soul!
